Our antidote for our overindulgence with bread today, a quick and easy root vegetable soup. Simmer chopped carrots, turnips and celery in a chicken broth base, when tender add green onions and bok choy, season with black pepper and miso paste. We like lots of black pepper, a well known antioxidant and anti inflammatory. Some interesting studies report the compound piperine has shown promise in animal studies to improve blood sugar regulation and brain function.
